McGhee Sextuplets Re-Create Their Family Photograph Six Years Later

Something about large families fascinates Americans. By this, we’re not talking about twins or triplets. We’re talking about families large enough to form a football team. So, it’s not surprising when we hear that a new family, of large proportions, suddenly came into the spotlight. Their story will definitely surprise you!

After facing ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ issues, Rozonno and Mia McGhee welcomed sextuplets in 2010. They met when they were in high school and the two began dating and soon realized their love was for real. They were married when they were 20, but it would be some time before they would expand their family.

They had spent a few years trying to ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇ a child, but eventually they realized they needed external help to do so. The couple wasn’t financially wealthy, but they put their money, and faith, into ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛs. After a couple of tries, Mia became ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with twins! It seemed like their prayers were answered, but soon ᴛʀᴀɢᴇᴅʏ would find them.

Unfortunately, the twins did not make it, due to ᴘʀᴇᴍᴀᴛᴜʀᴇ ᴅᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀʏ. The McGhees were ʜᴇᴀʀᴛʙʀᴏᴋᴇɴ, but that wouldn’t stop their desire to have a family. They decided to try again, and once again, Mia became ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ. This time the couple was in for a big surprise! They were ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with sextuplets! When their children were born safe and healthy, the parents were ecstatic.

In order to celebrate their large family, they had a small photo shoot with their six children. The photo of Mia sitting and Rozonno laying down with all of their children was sent to both of their families. It was so beautiful that it was soon made viral. Six years later, they recreated the photo which was shot by Brian and Janine Killian of Peters Photography, the same photographers who took the original image.

Siblings Elijah, Issac, Josiah, Madison, Olivia and Rozonno Jr., celebrated their sixth birthday with a recreation of the photo. “We knew that one was special,” Brian Killian told of the first time he photographed the McGhees. “I think people still remember seeing it six years ago. To have six little babies asleep on their dad — that’s a unique portrait.”

The original photo showed the ɴᴀᴋᴇᴅ newborns sleeping on their father. But this time around the bunch is wide awake and are wearing nude-colored tank tops and blue jeans.

The McGhees are currently starring in a new reality show detailing their life six years later called Growing Up McGhee.
