Mum Brenna Grund has encountered an interesting issue with her twin babies – in that they sᴄʀᴇᴀᴍ the house down whenever she tries to put them down sᴇᴘᴀʀᴀᴛᴇʟʏ.
Brenna Grund, 27, from Minnesota, in the US says her sons Lane and Lennox have only spent one night apart since they were born and that find each other’s presence comforting. After receiving some ᴄʀɪᴛɪᴄɪsᴍ on TikTok for letting them sleep beside one another, the mum decided to show what happens when she tries to sᴇᴘᴀʀᴀᴛᴇ them at home in Minnesota, US.
The mother-of-four also said she doesn’t believe in ‘ᴄʀʏɪɴɢ it out,’ meaning she doesn’t want to leave her children ᴄʀʏɪɴɢ in their room alone. In order to help them settle quicker, she places the twins in together.
She said: “My heart ʙʀᴏᴋᴇ sᴇᴘᴀʀᴀᴛɪɴɢ them so I took them out after a few minutes of not calming down and put them in bed next to each other and they fell asleep within two minutes. I can’t say it enough. Their bond is something only a twin can understand. It’s so incredible as their mum to watch.”
The twin had to spend time in the ⓃⒾⒸⓊ, and both ended up with a series of ᴄᴏʟᴅs, among other challenges. Through it all, they have only slept apart once. Being close to one another, holding hands and cuddling seems very soothing for the babies, and so every time they are separated, they become very ᴜᴘsᴇᴛand ᴀɢɪᴛᴀᴛᴇᴅ. So, Grund lets the twins sleep together, even though the Aᴍᴇʀɪᴄᴀɴ Pᴇᴅɪᴀᴛʀɪᴄ Assᴏᴄɪᴀᴛɪᴏɴ does not recommend siblings sleeping together because it might increase the ʀɪsᴋ of Sᴜᴅᴅᴇɴ Iɴғᴀɴᴛ Dᴇᴀᴛʜ Sʏɴᴅʀᴏᴍᴇ. The Grund twins have been sleeping together their entire lives and seem to get better rest that way.
People who saw the video said Grund should let the twins cuddle and ‘be happy.’ One posted: “Why would anyone want to sᴇᴘᴀʀᴀᴛᴇ them? They have built in comfort with each other. I’m jealous. Of course you should let them cuddle and be happy!!”
Another wrote: “My twins don’t sleep together because they always wake each other up…. BUT if they slept better together I 100% would support it! Do whatever works!”
