Lovely Footage Shows Majestic Lion Crouching Down To Meet His Cub For The First Time

Usually, a lion is not getting well with its new born offsprings. However, the male from the adorable footage bellow can’t wait to meet his baby for the very first time. The lovely video was filmed at Denver Zoo and then shared on Facebook, melting hearts all over the internet!

Baby Tatu, an African lion, was born at Denver zoo on July 25. The playful, curious, and energetic cub became the star of weekly video updates posted online by the zoo’s proud staff members. The videos show the cub playing and interacting with his family, and they’re seriously addictive.

The video shared on September 6, 2019, showcases a lion cub playing around in its enclosure. Although the spotlight is obviously on the tiny lion baby, the moment shared between him and his lion daddy is the star of the footage. The two generations met for the first time and the big lion Tobias’ actions towards his small bean of a son as he crouched down to interact won over the internet immediately. Many praised this 2-year-old father for his gentle behavior.

“He’s spent the last couple months bonding with his mom (Neliah), dad (Tobias) and half-sister (Kamara) behind the scenes at Predator Ridge at Denver Zoo, and will soon make his big public debut in one of the outdoor habitats,” Jake Kubié, the director of communications at Denver Zoo said.

The zoo has allowed their followers to keep close tabs on the nascent feline by posting regular “#cubdates” on social media. His name will be determined via online poll, where fans have the choice of voting for the name Meru, a mountain in Tanzania; Moremi, the name of a game reserve in Botswana; or, as Neliah’s third-born baby, the Swahili word for the number three: Tatu.

Yes, lions and their cubs are very adorable animals. However, the zoo wants everyone to understand that they are ᴇɴᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀᴇᴅ in the wild. In the past 25 years, half of all African lions have ᴅɪsᴀᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴇᴅ due to ᴅᴇsᴛʀᴜᴄᴛɪᴏɴ of habitats, ʟᴏss of ᴘʀᴇʏ, and ɪʟʟᴇɢᴀʟ ᴘᴏᴀᴄʜɪɴɢ. So, the Denver Zoo hope that their video will inspire the public to help organizations around the world that are dedicated to the preservation of ᴇɴᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀᴇᴅ wildlife.
