Moment goat and rooster rush to sᴀᴠᴇ chicken from hawk ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ

In the kind of scene you’ve never ever seen before, a rooster and a goat teamed up to sᴀᴠᴇ their chicken friend from a hawk ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ at a farm in the Netherlands. The ᴅʀᴀᴍᴀᴛɪᴄ moment, that lasted only a few seconds, was caught on by a CCTV camera.

Everyone in the paddock is with its own business, when all of a sudden, a hawk swooped down from the sky with only one purpose in its mind – the dinner. The ᴅɪᴇ seems already cast for a poor chicken. Feathers begin flying as the hen attempts to ᴇsᴄᴀᴘᴇ, but the hawk’s sharp talons refuse to let go. Almost immediately, a fearless rooster marches over to help the hen, and to give the hawk a good seeing to.

A couple of seconds later, another paddock companion – a goat, this time – decides to join forces in the attempt to sᴀᴠᴇ the helpless chicken from the bird’s sharp claws. The fearless duo eventually manages to fend off the hawk and to 𝑠ᴀᴠᴇ their pal’s life. Eventually, the bird of prey lets go and the fowl rush into a nearby hutch for safety.

Jaap Beets, 59, was inside his farmhouse in Gelderland on September 5 when he heard ear-piercing screeching coming from his livestock outside. Then he ran to the window but it all seemed to be over. He started watching CCTV to find out what happened on his farm.

After watching the video, he felt proud of the rooster and the goat that jumped in to protect his chicken. Luckily, the hen only suffered two minor ɪɴᴊᴜʀɪᴇ𝑠 but  the farmer said: “It took her a few days to get back to normal. The other birds rallied around and kept her company.”

The ɪɴᴄʀᴇᴅɪʙʟᴇ footage of the ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ mission has been viewed more than 447,000 times on social media, with people lauding the goat as “a hero” and comparing the ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ to “a Disney adventure”.

One commenter said: “That goat though, what a hero. He deserves a whole bale of alfalfa to himself.”

Another person wrote: “Oh my word. Good for them. The hawk can get his meal somewhere else.”
